Leaving Home at 18 Years Old Alone....

I left San Pietro on the first of August 1906. I departed from Mignano for Naples. My mother, my father, my sister and my brother were all with me when I took the train. This was the first time I had boarded a train. All of us thought that I was to return to Italy after 4 or five years.
